Harbor Club ProudlyAnnounces OurNew “Layoff Protection” Lease
If you involuntarily lose your job,Harbor Club Apartments will allow you to stay in your apartment, up to 60 days rent free. If you don’t find a new job by the end of that time, you may cancel your lease without penalty*.
Here’s how it works: If a Leaseholder (s) is laid off or involuntarily “downsized”1, the tenant must notify the property manager and provide appropriate documentation2. Upon verification of unemployment, rent abatement will begin on the 1st. day of the following month. Tenant must have made at least three consecutive monthly rent payments and not be in any default / breach of the lease agreement. Program is available to qualified Leaseholders3 who sign a minimum 1 year lease agreement and execute a “layoff protection” Lease addendum.
Tenant is obligated to immediately notify Harbor Club Apts. upon finding a new job, and resume paying rent.
* Damage charges beyond the limit ofany security deposit excepted. 1 Termination for cause, voluntary quit / resign, end completing a temporary work assignment, or entering retirement does not qualify. 2Written notice of layoff or termination for lack of work (downsizing) on employers letterhead and copy of application for unemployment. 3Other non-leaseholder occupants or residents living in the apartment, will not qualify for this program
